Protect our Place, the English Heritage funded campaign to understand how community groups protect and promote their local places, is pleased to announce two national events for community volunteers.
These events will be a unique opportunity for groups to network together, ask advice on issues concerning their projects, share their stories, and contribute to a major piece of research that will help to inform the next stage of community volunteering. No matter what form your group takes, whether it be Civic Society, heritage group, community group or Friends of, we want to hear from you.
The events will involve workshops that will focus on what it is you do as a volunteer, what your group undertakes, and how that can be better supported in the future. The events are open to all volunteers, and Civic Voice would like to urge anyone who partakes in community volunteering to come along. They we be held in Newcastle on the 12th of November, and in Birmingham on the 19th. The events will last from 10.30am to 3.30pm, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Civic Voice acknowledges that volunteers are not only giving up their time to attend the events, but that there might also be financial implications concerning travel. Therefore Civic Voice are offering to contribute towards attendees travel expenses.
